Hi! I’m John Sunderland, a British author living in Spain. I write stories, and if you’re here, it probably means you’d like to get a free book from me (thank you!) and maybe hear from me now and then.
Because your trust matters, I want to be really clear about how I use your information.
What I Collect
When you sign up, I only ask for:
- Your email address (so I can send you the free book and the occasional update).
- Your name (optional — only if you’d like me to know it).
That’s it. No hidden extras, no sneaky tracking.
How I Use Your Details
I’ll use your email to:
- Send you the free book you signed up for.
- Occasionally share news, new releases, or special offers related to my writing.
I won’t sell your details or pass them on to other people for marketing. Ever.
Your Choice, Always
You’re in control. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any email from me, or by contacting me directly.
Why This Is Legal
Under GDPR (the European and UK data protection rules), the reason I can email you is because you’ve given me consent when you signed up.
Keeping Your Info Safe
Your details are stored securely and may be managed by a trusted email service provider (such as MailerLite, Mailchimp, or similar) that also follows GDPR rules.
How Long I Keep Your Email
I’ll keep your details on my list until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them. Once you leave, your info is wiped from my mailing list.
Your Rights
Because of data protection laws, you can:
- Ask what info I have about you.
- Ask me to correct it if something’s wrong.
- Ask me to delete your info.
- Change your mind and unsubscribe anytime.
- Complain to a data protection authority if you feel I’ve mishandled your data (in Spain, that’s the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos).

If I ever update this Privacy Policy, I’ll post the changes here with a new date at the top.
